Gavin Legrand is responsible for personal information collected through this website and project enquiries. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
When you contact me
The contact form asks for your name, email address and project description. You can also provide a project type, timeframe and budget. Please do not include sensitive personal information. If you email me directly, I receive what you choose to put in your message.
I use this information to read your enquiry, respond, discuss your project and, where relevant, prepare work with you. The legal basis is taking steps you ask for before a contract, or my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing my creative business. You do not have to contact me, but I need an email address and enough detail to reply meaningfully. I do not use enquiries for a mailing list.
Form submissions go directly from your browser toFormspree. Formspree stores submissions in its account dashboard and may send a notification to my[email protected]mailbox, which uses Google Workspace. Email replies are handled through Google Workspace. These providers process the information needed to deliver and secure those services.
When you visit the website
This site is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser and request details to serve and protect the site. My legal basis for operating and securing the site is legitimate interest. I have not added advertising trackers or a site analytics script.
If you choose Light or Evening appearance, this site saves that choice in your browser's local storage under gavin-appearance. Auto follows your device setting and removes any saved choice. The preference is used only to display your chosen appearance and is not sent to me. You can reset it with Auto or clear this site's browser storage. The site does not set its own analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies strictly needed for security, depending on its configuration.
Saltzer preview audio is served directly by this website. Cloudflare processes the technical request data needed to deliver those files, as described above. Links to full tracks open Spotify in a new tab; once you visit Spotify, its own privacy practices apply. Other external project links also take you to sites with their own privacy practices.
How long information is kept
I keep enquiries in Formspree and my mailbox while handling them and for as long as reasonably needed for a resulting project, business records or a dispute. I review them and delete them when no longer needed, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations. Formspree's available submission history also depends on its account plan. Your saved appearance choice remains in your browser until you remove it. Cloudflare and the other service providers apply their own operational retention periods to technical data.
Processing outside the UK
Formspree, Google and Cloudflare may process information outside the UK. Their contractual and privacy terms describe the safeguards they use for international transfers. Email me if you would like details about the arrangements relevant to your information.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or ask me to restrict its use. You may also have a right to data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email me to make a request; some rights have legal limits. I do not make decisions about you solely by automated means with legal or similarly significant effects.
